The Impact of Inventions on Society

$6.00

This project based learning unit is perfect for middle school (6-8) classes that focus on careers, technology, history or CTE.

Unit Lesson Plans include:
1. Unit Plan, Teacher & Student Resources
2. History of Inventions Timeline Project (Web 2.0 – www.tiki-toki.com)
3. Exploring Inventions Project (PowerPoint)
4. Researching an Inventor (Web 2.0 – www.weebly.com)

Students create a timeline to show a century of inventions of their choice and make real-world connections in how those inventions influenced our history and society. Next, they choose five different inventions in different categories to explore in depth and create a PowerPoint. Finally, students research an inventor of interest and create a web page about them and their inventions, further connecting their learning to their own world and giving it an authentic audience.

My 7th graders loved sharing their research with each other and challenged each other to “think outside the box” as they gained a better understanding of technology and history. I know your students will enjoy this too!
